The newly established scientific laboratory for the preservation of antiquities under the Exploration & Excavation Branch of the Culture Department hosted a high-profile visit by Abdul Majid Bhurgri, Founder of Sindhi Computing and Lifetime Co-chairman of Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering (AMBILE) on 5th December, 2024.
The visit was facilitated by Director Mr. Roshan Ali Kanasro and Deputy Director of the Exploration & Excavation Branch, Mr. Zaheer Ahmed Shaikh.
During his tour, Mr. Bhurgri expressed admiration for the advancements made in antiquities preservation and applauded the efforts to safeguard Sindh’s cultural heritage. He emphasized the importance of offering preservation and restoration services to other provinces, suggesting this could generate revenue while promoting Sindh’s expertise in the field.
Mr. Shaikh provided a detailed briefing about the laboratory’s ongoing development, its state-of-the-art technology, and the preservation techniques being employed.
This visit highlighted the strides being made in preserving Sindh’s rich archaeological and cultural treasures while setting new benchmarks in inter-provincial collaboration and innovation.
